wow, I now have a favicon.ico – the world shakes! 
It isn’t working in safari though. I added “LINK REL=”SHORTCUT ICON” HREF=”/favicon.ico”“ but this hasn’t helped. I looked at google.com’s source and that doesn’t mention anything about favicon.
Someone throw me a bone? I’ve wasted an hour googling an answer to no avail :/

I’m using safari from school (an older version on panther).. but I do see it
maybe u just need to empty the cache or something?
Hmm, weird. Nope. I just tried it on a seperate machine also running Safari 1.2.3. Cleared cache.
What version are you using?
