Wired has an article about some scientists, who finally proved that the human body can produce its own Morphine.
A quote:
They found morphine in the limbic center, which is involved with emotions.”That puts this new signaling molecule in a very crucial part of the brain,” Stefano said. “If morphine’s there, it’s involved with subjective thinking.”
I ponder: Could this be what draws some people to melodrama and why being down and gloomy about a love interest gone wrong can feel strangely fuzzy and nice?
