Been getting some good live music made with keith/songcarver after very little practise. Should be a good collaboration.
Made a new song, named “It’s all about the bottom line”. It’s very hard and harsh but I love it. Did most of it in an afternoon. Still needs some tweaking though. Busy with other things so It will remain unreleased until I get time to properly sit down and finish/master it.
Bought a scanner finally! actually, its a Scanner and Printer in 1! (Lexmark X75) It’s quality is not as high as stand alone versions of these functions but neither was the price tag
$198 for a printer and scanner is pretty good; Was reduced by $100(from $298)! anyway… it’s good enough for me for know… at least I have them. I will mostly be scanning pencil work to be manipulated in photoshop so it does HAVE to be supa-dupa quality. Seems like a new product so maybe its some introduction price? I like its scanner->printer integration. You just press a copy button; Colour or black, and it acts like a photocopier. Haven’t tried its fax integration yet but that will most likely come in handy as well now that I am looking into actively marketing my skills.
Nice segway there…. Today, I am going to a NEIS information session and interview. NEIS stands for New Enterprise Incentive Scheme. It is ran by the government to help people start their own business by giving them training, a mentor and money to stay alive on while they build up the business.
I am still a bit hazy on how to pitch my idea. What I want to do covers graphic design, music (live, creative and stuff for multimedia/web) and some kinda internet hosting service for musicians. The later is VERY hazy and perhaps I should just omit mentioning that for now. I asked some questions of one of the NEIS people on tuesday and she said they really want to hear very solid ideas.
Wish me luck
